• You hear a metal-on-metal scrape at one specific point in the travel. On slide gates, a broken or bent fabricated roller carrier lets the gate ride off the track rail. The scrape is the chassis dragging on concrete. Left unrepaired, it gouges the rail.
• The gate shudders or bounces as it opens or closes. A twisted fabricated arm or a cracked gusset plate changes the geometry under load, so the motor strains and the gate movement gets jerky. The motor is fine; the metal it’s pushing is not.
